Eligibility Criteria for Application

For High School Applicants:

• Must not be a citizen of Turkey or eligible to claim Turkish citizenship.

• Must be born on or after 01.01.2009 (not older than 16 years).
• Must be unmarried.
• Must have graduated from a secondary or middle school equivalent to the 8th grade in Turkey with at least 70% grades.
• Must not have any disciplinary record during their education in their home country.
• Must not have repeated studies or taken a break of more than two years without a valid reason after completing secondary school.
• Must not have completed primary education in Turkey.
• Must not have any mental or physical health issues preventing them from studying in Turkey.
• The student's family must reside outside Turkey.
• Must not be a refugee or living with family in Turkey.
• Must live in their home country of citizenship.
• Students enrolled in International Imam Hatip High Schools in Turkey or those who completed secondary education in Northern Cyprus will not benefit from the remaining quotas for undergraduate studies in Turkey.

Eligibility Criteria for Bachelor’s Degree Applicants:

• Must not be a citizen of Turkey.

• Must not have acquired or lost Turkish citizenship for any reason.
• Must be born on or after 01.01.2004.
• Must not have any health condition preventing them from studying in Turkey.
• Must have completed secondary education equivalent to the Turkish high school level.
• Must have a minimum academic grade of 70%.
• Must not have received any disciplinary actions during education.
• Must not have interrupted studies for more than two years between high school and university.
• Must not have previously received a scholarship from the Turkish Religious Affairs Foundation that was later revoked or voluntarily discontinued.
• Must not be currently enrolled in any university in Turkey.

Master’s Scholarship Benefits:

• Monthly stipend for 12 months.

• Students opting for free accommodation in the foundation’s dormitories will have 30% of their stipend deducted.
• Health insurance expenses are covered by the Turkish Religious Affairs Foundation.
• Tuition and accommodation fees are covered.
• Transportation expenses for arrival in Turkey and departure upon completion of studies are covered.

Eligibility Criteria for Master’s Degree Applicants:

• Must not be a Turkish citizen (students from International Faculty of Theology programs must provide proof of non-Turkish citizenship).

• Must be under 30 years old as of 01.01.1995.
• Must not have taken a break of more than two years between completing a bachelor's degree and applying for a master’s program.
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree with a thesis requirement.
• Must have graduated or be able to graduate from Faculty of Theology, Islamic Sciences, or equivalent fields by July 2025.
• Must not have any health conditions preventing them from studying in Turkey.
• Must not have received any disciplinary action or criminal conviction during previous education.
• International applicants who studied outside Turkey must provide an internationally recognized language certificate (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, CPE, CAE, PTE, TestDaF, DELF, DELE, TORFL, ALPT).
• Students who completed their education in Turkey must have at least 50 points from YDS/YÖKDİL (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Arabic).
• Must have at least 55 points from the ALES exam (preferably organized by ÖSYM).
• Preference given to candidates with published international research or articles.

• Must not have taken a break of more than two years between completing a master’s degree and applying for a Ph.D. program.
• Must have a Master’s degree with a thesis requirement.
• Must have graduated or be able to graduate from Faculty of Theology, Islamic Sciences, or equivalent fields by July 2025.
• Must not have any health conditions preventing them from studying in Turkey.
• Must not have received any disciplinary action or criminal conviction during previous education.
